Miss Kim

Miss Kim

,

The design of Miss Kim’s interior is inspired by the rich, colorful, and fragrant dishes the restaurant is known for.  Our approach to the design of the space unifies the material palate of the furniture, brick walls, and lighting to recede into a rich but subtle canvas that showcase the plates of layered flavors and colors, as well as the diverse clientele of the restaurant. Ebonized wood surfaces provide a tactile warmth to the surfaces of contact and are contrasted with the unifying white of the brick, acoustic panels, and powder coated steel supports for the bar and drink rails. The depth of the material palate allows a surface articulation to register out of the subtle modeling of each material’s texture, inverting the sensual experience diners enjoy with first the bold visual colors of the dishes, then the more subtle balancing of flavors and aromas that define Miss Kim’s elegant presentation.
